Book Review #33 : It Starts with Us (It Ends with Us, #2) by Colleen Hoover

Image
It Starts with Us is totally an uncalled but realistic closure for the admirers of Atlas and Lily. We all know that the story centers around the relationship between Lily, Ryle and Atlas. But more importantly, this book is an explored turn for the second sequence, when love, trust, and self-discovery become a worthy step of life. The writing in the novel is also noteworthy. Colleen Hoover is a skilled storyteller, and she uses her words to great effect. As a result of its honest and raw writing style, the story is most powerful. I am not into the romance genre, but just because I had read ‘It Ends With Us’, I had to know the second ending. It is very obvious that Colleen has shown the practical aspect of those matters, for which you have taken any decision. It is not only the decision, but the eventual incidents happening after that, are more courageous. Also, the title is so apt, one should not miss its essence in the story. All I can say is, if you have read the first part, go ...

Book Review #32 : "Azadi" by Arundhati Roy

Image
Honestly speaking, I didn’t think much of the fact that this “Azadi” is actually about India's major controversies and the realistic faces of Indian politicians. I generally avoid reading blurb about the book, especially those books which are written by one of my favorite authors. After reading “The God of Small Things”, Arundhati Roy grabbed my attention by molding the simplest thoughts into literary fantasies. And so, I just tried my luck with her famous “Azadi”, which turned out to be the outlier for my genre preference.  “Azadi” is a tight slap on the many sideshows. Some are carried out in negligence and some are broadcasted with bracing up the best pose.  I should say, this book is an extension of Roy’s book “The Ministry of Utmost Happiness” and some reference to “The God of Small Things”.  Also, she has referred many articles, written or encountered by her. Everything is dredged up with uncommon events. Roy has underlined Kashmir’s issues, like how a dense ...

Recent movie that impacted me eternally!

Have you ever imagined what would happen if you counted the stars, the whole night? Needless to say, imagine first living in the 90's, coz you won’t see a bunch of stars now with naked eyes - all thanks to human pollution! But yes, if you ever get a chance, then also it won’t be possible at all to count these millions of gazillion numbers. So what is the exact number? What is exactly infinity? Is this the endless thing that you can’t reckon? Is it the unstable variation of mathematical predictions? Is it about your uninterrupted overthinking that keeps going on and on, without having a demographic picture of scenarios? Is it a millionth experiment to forecast the probability of winning a football match? Is it diving into the deepest root of an atom?  Why have so many scientists gone mad while discovering the darkest secrets of infinities?  This documentary is all about the factual data of fear, regarding infinity. Some get deadly dreams of getting lost in the infinite l...

Short Book Review #31: Habits: 25 small habits, to improve wealth, health and happiness by Manoj Chenthamarakshan

This book is a power booster short read for all of us, who just need right kind of push in life. The writing style is very easy and all the points are quite implementable. Few of the best things that I grabbed while reading : ★  There should always be some time for break. It won't make you small. ★  Practice meditation and work on your peace first. ★  Make priorities. ★  Practice journaling and giving gratitude. ★  Communicate the differences and solve the actual problem rather than exaggerating. ★  Upskill yourself on every day basis ★  Smile :)
