#NaPoWriMo2023 : DAY 12

Re-kindling memories

Just a few moments before writing this piece, I was talking to my closest friend, discussing our kettle of fish. Our discussion generally starts from the very prior and urgent issue, and eventually ends up sharing our early memories and laughter and childhood events, no matter whether we are breathing different time zones or dreams.

Isn’t this a chapter of many little moments we pile up to discuss the same conversation on a phone call 10 years later?

We often share our thoughts through songs. Songs of evergreen bands, golden era, old-age singers. Songs, through which we relate events and pains and happiness. Songs, where our bond handshakes with each other while eating tiffin(dabbaa). Songs, which suddenly knock our afternoon thoughts. Songs, which give a reason to happily cry. Songs, where our dreams lie. Songs, which share our silent heartbeats.

Isn’t this a way to taste contentment via someone else’s stages of life?

Sometimes, we don’t even talk for months, or years (if I include our bad-phases). Sometimes we don’t know the whereabouts. But irrespective of any circumstances, whenever we meet/talk, there’s a different spark we transmit. We have evolved from texting on nokia phones, with restrictive 200 messages per day, to jamming on evergreen songs of Kishore Da full night. We grew and are still growing.

Isn’t this a full-fledged menu of aftertaste of happiness?

  1. Again, this is definitely my cup of tea. Straight from the heart.
